During the weeks of September 26 - October 14 your child will be taking their fall benchmark on the MAP test.  This is an important assessment as we will see how much academic growth has occurred since last spring (grades 1-6) and it will set a baseline for the 16-17 school year.  We want to provide the best conditions possible during this time so that everyone can succeed.  A healthy, well rested student with a full stomach has the advantage to do well on their tests.  Don’t forget your child can eat breakfast at school if you are interested.

The annual HAWK Honors Assembly will be held on Friday, October 14th at 2:30 p.m.  At this time, we will be recognizing students for outstanding academic achievements.  Individuals will be recognized for high performance or most improvement on the NeSA, MAP and GRADE assessments. We will also be recognizing character award winners.  Hampton alum, Tony Chapman will be our guest speaker and share his thoughts about the importance of academic preparation for success after high school.  The HAWK Honors Assembly is open to the public and we encourage you to join us as we celebrate the successes of our students!

Parent-Teacher conferences will be held Wednesday, September 28, from 3pm to 8pm. All K-6 parents will have scheduled time with their child’s classroom teacher.  Schedule conference times were sent home this week.   7-12 parents should check into the high school office to receive a progress report for your son or daughter.  All 7-12 teachers will be located in the high school gym for conferences.  Conferences are a valuable opportunity for parents to participate in their child/children’s education experience.  We hope to see you on the 28th!

Parents:  Please help our school by stopping in to take an AdvancED (our accreditation agency) survey the night of parent-teacher conferences.  These surveys provide valuable feedback regarding academic and social needs of our students.  These surveys will point out both strengths and areas of improvement to help our school be the best it can be!  The survey is anonymous, we just need 10-15 minutes of your time.  There will be stations in both the high school and the elementary.  Families only need to complete one survey.  Thank you for your help!

To benefit the Heartland United Way and the Hamilton County Food Pantry, Husker Harvest Days is sponsoring a non-perishable food drive.  The Hampton FFA Chapter will be doing their part to assist in this program.  By doing so, we are showing Hawk Pride for our community and the surrounding area.  Each class is being challenged to help out as much as possible and the winning class will be treated to a surprise.    Donations need to be dropped off by Tuesday, September 13th to the Ag Room so that the Chapter Officers can deliver the items to Husker Harvest Days.  Heartland United Way has created Targeted or Suggestion List that would be most beneficial to those that are in need.  Please consider donating some of these items if you are able - Canned Soups or Stews (Chili, beef stew, chicken noodle, etc.), Boxed items that make a meal (Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper, etc), Canned proteins (chicken, tuna, etc.), Canned fruits and vegetables, Peanut butter and jelly, Pasta meals, Breakfast items, Healthy snacks.
