The Hampton Cheerleaders have three Homecoming T-Shirts left.  They have 1 Youth size small, 1 Adult size small, and 1 Adult size large.  They are $10 each.  The shirts are grey w/purple “Hawk Pride”.  There are also four adult size small purple shirts with “Tradition Starts Here” from Homecoming last year for $5.  Send money and a note to school or stop in to purchase.

The Hampton VB team will play Monday, October 29, at 7:30pm at St. Paul.  We will play the winner of St. Edward - Heartland Lutheran game.  When we win this game we will play Tuesday at 7pm at St. Paul in the Sub-District Finals.  Good luck to the VB team and coaches!!  Complete brackets are on the school website.






Join the Hampton Community Club for “Trunk or Treat” on Wednesday, October 31st, on Main Street from 4-6pm.  Trunk or Treat is a Halloween event that will be sponsored by the Hampton Community club.  People gather and park their cars along main street.  They open their trunks, or the backs of their vehicles and decorate them.  Then they pass out candy from their trunks.  The event will provide a safe family environment for trick or treaters.

Federal regulations require all schools to inventory asbestos containing materials in their  buildings and annually inform patrons and employees of the existing management plan.  The plan for HPS is available for inspection to the general public, teachers, and other school personnel.  The plan is available at school for anyone to look at, or if you wish to have a copy, you may have one within 5 days of your request for the cost of duplication.

Community Pride Day will be held Friday, October 26th starting at 1:30pm.  If weather permits, 7-12 grade students will be raking, cleaning gutters, and washing windows.  Hampton High School students have been providing this service for almost 40 years!

The Hampton Boys BB team will be sponsoring a Meal Deal at tonight’s football game to raise money for new uniforms.  They will be serving a bowl of chili and a cinnamon roll for $5.   A great night for chili!!

The Hampton Junior High Volleyball team will play in the CRC championship game versus Exeter/Milligan on Saturday, October 13th, at the York City Auditorium at 1pm.  Admission to the JH VB game will $4 for adults and $3 for students.  CRC passes will not be accepted. Congratulations to our JH volleyball team on making it to the championship game!  Good luck!!

The HAWK Honors Assembly will take place on Wednesday, October 17th, at 2:45pm in the high school gym.  We will be recognizing students for outstanding academic achievements and performance on either the NeSA, GRADE, and MAP tests.  Mark Dick, a former Hampton graduate, will be the guest speaker.  He will be sharing his thoughts about the importance of academic preparation for success after graduation.  We hope everyone can join us for this special assembly to celebrate the success of our students!!

School picture retakes will take place Wednesday, October 17, in the morning.  If your child was absent on September 4th, you must pick up an order form from school and send it with your child on the 17th so they can get their picture taken.  You do not have to order a package, but your child will still have their picture taken for the yearbook.  Sports pictures will not be retaken.

**Homecoming will be celebrated October 7-12.  Kicking off the week will be the Homecoming Pep Rally on Sunday, October 7.  There will be a class parade at 6pm, the Booster Club will serve hotdogs at 6:30pm followed by the pep rally at 7pm.  Spirit Week dress-up days are as follows: Monday - Messy/Crazy/Backwards day, Tuesday - Western Day, Wednesday - Super Hero Day, Thursday - Class Unity Day, Friday - Purple/Gold Day.  Let’s all enjoy Homecoming week!!

Flu season is here!  Bert’s Pharmacy in Hastings will be administering flu shots at Hampton Elementary School on Wednesday, October 10th, beginning at 7:15am. Community members are welcome to take part in this clinic.  If you are BCBS member, your vaccination will be free, with the presentation of your insurance card. If you are not a BCBS member, there will be a fee of $25 for your vaccination.  Bert’s Pharmacy cannot bill Medicare.  They will also do screening for pneumonia, tetanus, and shingles shots.  Please call the school (402-725-3116) and let us know if you would be interested in taking part in this clinic.
