The 22nd Annual Hampton Alumni Basketball Tournament  will be held on Sunday, March 19th.  The first game starts at 10am in the High School Gymnasium.
*************************************************************************************************************Cheerleader Tryout dates have been set for March 31st at 7:00.  Practice dates for tryouts are March 27, 28, and 29th from 7:00-8:30.  March 29th is an optional night for those who want more practice time in the gym. Grades 8th-11th are eligible to try out for Cheerleader. If you have any questions please call or email Mrs. Ediger at school.

College Fair information: The Grand Island Area College Fair is scheduled for Sunday, March 26th from 1:00-3:00 p.m.  It will be held at the Pinnacle Bank Expo Center located at the fairgrounds.  Over 60 colleges and military branches will be represented.  To get a full listing and more information go to NebraskaCollegeFairs.org or EducationQuest.org

The Nebraska State Accountability (NeSA) tests and the ACT will be administered during March and April to students in grades 3-8 and 11. This will be the first year that students in the 11th grade are given the ACT as their Nebraska state assessment.  All 11th graders in Hampton and across the state who are taking a paper copy of the exam will participate on APRIL 19th.  It is important that all students get plenty of rest prior to testing, eat a good breakfast, and be present on testing day.  The testing schedule for March and April is as follows:
  • Grade 3 = March 23, 24 (reading), April 11, 12 (math)
  • Grade 4 = March 21, 22 (reading), April 11, 12 (math)
  • Grade 5 = March 21, 22 (reading), April 11, 12 (math), April 5, 6 (science)

We will have a parent information night regarding entry into kindergarten for the 2017 – 2018 school year on Thursday, April 6th beginning at 6:30 p.m. Children must be 5 on or before July 31, 2017 to be eligible for kindergarten next year.  This night is just for parents/guardians.  The children are invited to come to kindergarten the morning of April 7th.  More details will be sent out to kindergarten families in a mailing.  Parents/guardians will meet with our Principal/Superintendent Mrs. Holly Herzberg, our guidance counselor, Mrs. Jan Ediger, our school nurse, Mrs. Ange Klute, and Mrs. Wolinski, classroom teacher.  We will talk about the forms and necessities for kindergarten, and also about how our kindergarten program runs.
If you have an age eligible child but are unable to attend due to a conflict, please email Mrs. Wolinski at twolinski@hamptonhawks.us or call the school.
